Logbook

Catch and release was the motto of this week. Four anglers caught 31 pollock, 2 ling, 32 cod, 2 pouting, 1 cuckoo wrasse, 5 conger, 3 dogfish, plenty of mackerels, 1 herring, 5 octopus, 1 sea cucumber, 1 spider crab, 2 stone crab and 2 green crab.

15th - 20th August 2010

A group of fishing friends from Wolfsburg caught this week 158 pollock, 28 ling, 82 coalfish, 27 cod, 16 pouting, 1 grey gurnard, 7 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse, 13 octopus, plenty mackerels and a few sandeels for our cat Leo.

8th - 13th August 2010

Six angler (two of them were also fishing with us in April 2010) caught 403 pollock, 11 ling, 70 cod, 22 pouting, 1 red gurnard, 15 cuckoo wrasse, 2 ballan wrasse, 1 turbot, 1 brill, 8 octopus and 2 sea cucumber :-)

2nd - 6th August 2010

Three to six angler caught 139 pollock, 8 ling, 57 coalfish, 81 cod, 6 pouting, 1 whiting, 8 cuckoo wrasse, 1 haddock and 4 octopus.

18th - 31st July 2010
Groups with one to three angler caught in the last two weeks 144 pollock, 7 ling, 8 coalfish, 73 cod, 8 pouting, 1 grey gurnard, 2 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse, 1 dogfish, 1 haddock and 1 blueshark (2.28 mtr, 174 lbs).

11th - 16th July 2010

A successful week for a group of eight angler. 243 pollock, 8 ling, 46 coalfish, 148 cod (!!), 11 pouting, 3 red gurnard, 1 cuckoo wrasse, 1 haddock, 1 starfish and 1 octopus.

3rd - 9th July 2010

Five regular Valentia Fishing anglers caught this week 130 pollock (the biggest 12 lbs), 4 ling (the biggest 1.06 mtr), 23 coalfish, 12 cod, 4 pouting, 2 grey gurnard, 6 cuckoo wrasse and 1 John Dory.

19th - 24th June 2010

This week we made two trips from the drifting boat and two trips while the boat was anchored. Four angler caught on one day nine different species and in total 100 pollock, 9 ling, 16 coalfish, 4 cod, 12 pouting, 3 conger, 4 dogfish, 4 bullhuss, 1 rockling, 2 sea cucumber :-), 1 crab and loads of mackerels and sandeels.

13th - 17th June 2010

Four to six angler enjoyed lovely weather and caught 215 pollock, 22 ling, 12 coalies, 21 cod, 19 pouting, 1 grey gurnard, 1 whiting, 3 cuckoo wrasse and 1 ballan wrasse.

6th - 10th June 2010

Another incredible week! Three to four angler caught 246 pollock (the biggest 12 lbs), 12 ling (the biggest 1.10 mtr), 23 coalfish, 31 cod, 19 pouting, 1 red gurnard, 2 cuckoo wrasse, 1 dogfish and a couple of sandeels.

29th May - 4th June 2010
Extremely good results for cod and ling this week. Congratulations to Uwe from Mecklenburg-West Pomerania for his so far biggest ling (1.28 mtr, 27 lbs). Six guys caught 197 pollock, 51 ling, 104 coalies, 36 cod, 33 pouting, 2 grey gurnard, 7 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse, 1 dogfish, 3 haddock and 1 flounder.

17th - 25th May 2010

The motto of this week = "catch and release". Two groups with two to three angler enjoyed the lovely sunshine and caught (and released) 136 pollock (the biggest 13 lbs), 1 ling, 19 coalfish, 15 cod (the biggest 10 lbs), 1 pouting, 1 grey gurnard, 1 cuckoo wrasse and 1 ballan wrasse.

9th - 13th May 2010

A week with great weather and tide conditions left our group of  six angler with 228 pollock, 17 ling, 54 coalies, 16 cod, 21 pouting, 5 whiting, 1 cuckoo wrasse and 4 ballan wrasse.

2nd - 8th May 2010

Another wonderful week. Different groups with three to six angler caught 278 pollock, 17 ling, 133 coalfish, 21 cod, 23 pouting and 2 ballan wrasse.

11th - 17th April 2010

Sensational start of the season - loads of sunshine and loads of fish! Seven trips with six angler on board, they caught 464 pollock, 16 ling, 81 coalfish, 14 cod, 12 pouting, 3 cuckoo wrasse and 5 ballan wrasse. Plenty of mackerel and sandeels. 

Many fishes of the above catches were released.
